David Choji is an agriculture expert with over 40 years’ experience and competence with demonstrable hands- on track record of end-to-end operational excellence in irrigation, agronomy, production, commercial farming, value-addition, storage, and capacity building across the agriculture value chain.

David’s experience base and expertise derive from active involvement and operational leadership responsibilities, including serving as:

  • Crop Manager, UTC Farms – in charge of the mass production of Tomatoes for industrial use.
  • Regional Coordinator USAID (United States Agency for International Development) Sorghum production program – in charge of Plateau State and Bauchi in Nigeria.
  • Head of Greenhouse Production – Agricultural Services Training Center (ASTC), Vom, Plateau State, Nigeria (ASTC is a collaboration between Plateau State Government and the State of Israel. Set up in 2008, ASTC is one of the best training centers where farmers are trained in modern agricultural techniques and best.
  • It is arguably one of the best greenhouse projects in Nigeria.
  • He holds a National Diploma in Irrigation and Agronomy and a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Irrigation and Agronomy from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and has attended various leadership, management, and Agriculture value chain operations.
  • David was part of the team that pioneered 11 River Basin Development Authorities in Nigeria in 1974, particularly; the defunct Lower Benue River Basin (covering the current States of Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, and some part of Kogi), and Rima River Basin (located in the old Sokoto State, which included the current States of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and come part of Niger).
