Mallam Baba Yusuf is a certified and multiskilled strategist with outstanding planning and execution capabilities. He is a thought leader, business leader, board advisor, corporate governance expert, public intellectual, transformation agent, policy advisor, writer,  and  advocate for policy coherence in diverse sectoral climates. He is the founder and host of the “Reflections with Baba Yusuf” podcast.

With over 30 years of diverse corporate and political experience and a track record of achievements at senior management, C-Suite and Board levels, Baba has held different management and business leadership positions including serving as Head of ICT & Systems, Group GM Business Development and Strategy, Chief Strategy Officer, MD/CEO, Group CEO, Board member, etc. in various organizations including publicly quoted companies in Nigeria, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, etc.

Over the years he has successfully executed multibillion US Dollar projects (in both public and private sectors); and has been very instrumental in transforming underperforming organizations and business divisions and organizations into profitable and progressive organizations across several sectors/environments, generating real stakeholder value through strong leadership, entrepreneurial flair, commercial awareness, crisis management, and high emotional intelligence. Accordingly, Mr. Yusuf has earned the accolades and commendations of Boards Of Directors, Shareholders, Members of Staff, Labour Unions and other Stakeholders.

Baba Yusuf has continuous multi- disciplinary certifications, expertise and experience in Strategy, Corporate Governance, Organizational Development, Turnaround Management, Business Transformation, Business Modelling, Process Re-engineering, Policy Formulation/ Analysis, Investment and Trade Promotion and Facilitation, Public Private Sector Participation (PPP) transaction advisory and project management, Special Economic/Free Trade Zones, ICT, and Systems Integration, Project Management, Value Chain Optimization, Logistics and Supply- Chain Management, People and Change Management, Stakeholder management, Crisis Management, Politics, etc.

Furthermore, Baba is the Chairman and CEO of IT-Empire group of companies, Nigeria, with interests in Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Solid Minerals, and Digital Economy.

He also currently serves as Director on the Boards of other notable Companies, including, as a Partner at Corporate Resource Development Consultants (CRDC), Founder/Vice Chairman of IT- Empire General Trading LLC, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, etc.

He is an alumnus of the INSEAD Business School’s (Fontainebleau, France) Executive development program; a Chartered IT Professional – under the Royal Charter of the British Computer Society; Fellow of the Institute of Analysts and Programmers of the UK; Member of World Free Trade Zone Organization, etc.

Prior to founding GITC, Mallam Baba was the first substantive MD/CEO of the first Airport Free Trade Zone in Nigeria, i.e., NAHCO Free Zone (NFZ) located at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Nigeria, one of the busiest airports on the African continent.

Baba Yusuf has also been effective in developing and deepening business, professional, and political relationships with stakeholders across diverse economic sectors, political environments, and high-level functionaries in the public and private sectors in Nigeria, and countries across Africa, the gulf countries of the Middle East, and other parts of the world

From 2000 to 2002, as a Senior Analyst/Special Assistant to the Managing Partner of Le Chez Consultants, Baba participated in the winding-up project of the $2billion Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund (PTF) under the Interim Management Committee set up by then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo. Le CHEZ Consultants was the nationwide consultant of the PTF winding up project, which included technical audit of the entire projects from inception of PTF, processing of payments for all completed projects, verification of ongoing and abandoned projects, etc.
